Frillish are a jellyfish like Pokemon, though parts of their anatomy more closely resemble squids. Interestingly, they display an incredible sexual dimorphism, the males being blue with erect "crowns" on their head, and the females being pink with their "crown" depressed. The male's tendrils often form a wavy pattern, similar in shape to frills that kings used to wear in the Victorian era, and the female's tendrils curl up to look like sugarplum balls. They each have a specific pattern across their Aboral surface, that resembles eyes and a mouth when looking head-on. The male appears to be frowning, and the female smiling. The colors of the patterns are inverted for the respective gender. When they mature into Jellicents they get big and fat and ugly and no one likes them.
