Mount Cache

Description

Felix Normal Small by UltimateSassMaster While there are plenty of mountains among the islands near my home, I have never heard of one so oddly named at Mt.Cache. Able to be seen in the distance from the hills of Skyset to the North, Mt.Cache is the largest peak in the small chain of hills that surround it. It is honestly a pretty sight to look at during the Sunrise, late Sunset and the few times the full moon is out. I have not been there many times myself yet, but from what the locals in Aster and those surrounding it have told me, Mt.Cache is a frequent harvesting spot for gatherers due to the number of pokemon nests that appear in the upper reaches of the mountain. A few settlers near the trading paths in the hills surrounding it have told me that no matter how many times they have gone in there, they have always found an abundance of anything from food to these orbs they call "Wonder Orbs". I do not know what these orbs are, but from what I have been told, they sound like the ones my village uses for tokens and offerings in our ceremonies. Pretty things those can be, I've seen them emit fountains of light when in the right conditions, some even changing colors to match the Borealis we see above our village most nights!

From what I could gather about Mt.Cache, I have been told it is in fact, and to no surprise of mine, a dungeon. The locals have said that this dungeon has a rather high "mysteriosity" to it, which could honestly explain why items seem to keep appearing in the upper reaches of the dungeon, aside from the pokemon who might make their homes up there. For the most part on my first journey to Mt.Cache, I found it a rather easy climb from the path that leads off one of the larger trading routes that merchant caravans pass through. The start of the path is marked off with a few signs, most of them saying "WARNING" or "MT.CACHE DUNGEON". As I made my way up there, it seemed much more lively than my excursions into Skyset. There were a great deal of pokemon who reside in this mountain, however most of them seemed to mind their own business. I did encounter a few territorial Aron and Geodude up the way up though, but so long as you show you aren't up to any mischief, or you begin to back away they'll leave you alone. No use starting trouble where it isn't needed as I like to say.

The path itself provides a beautiful sight of the lands below! So long as you found a stable ledge to sit on, you could set yourself down and watch the shadows of the clouds drift on the ground on a sunny day. As I continued forward, I came upon a few large entrances into the mountain itself. Peering in, I saw exactly what the villagers meant. Items, food, even a few scarves I saw were just littered around the ground and in the nests! Either the residents that live here must be master gatherer's or the rumours about the mysteriosity of this place are true. Still, with all of this here...I wouldn't be surprised if whoever did gather it, if anyone, would be close by so I decided not to take anything and move on. There wasn't much longer to my excursion however given that I came upon a large statue in the shape of a Pinsir. It looked as if it had been here for years...what confused me even more was that it bears a striking resemblance to Aster's Banker, Quincy.

Looking beyond that, I found a path that started to descend further into the mountain, but I was advised not to progress past the Quincy statue. Before I had made my trip up here, I was stopped by a few of the residents who had told me that the lower chambers of Mt.Cache are prohibited to anyone given that the Pokemon down there are apparently very very powerful. A few of them said they had tales about their failed adventures down into the depths of Mt.Cache in search of what treasures might be there, but the looks on their faces told me they weren't lying...so I had decided to heed their warning. As I began to make my way back, I heard a loud, echoing roar come from down the entrance followed by a faint rumble. To say that spooked me would be an understatement, I began to half sprint towards the entrance, only to look back and see something near the statue, it looked like some sort of bug type just staring at me, beginning to open its...mouth. At that moment...I had figured that was my cue to leave...and quickly at that.

So as a note here, I will say that for any who wish to go to Mt.Cache, heed the words of the locals and DO NOT go into the lower chambers of the dungeon. As it is prohibited for any, and I do mean ANY guild members to go, should I hear of any Cartographer's...or members of any guild for that matter try to go in there, you will be hearing from me.

Nice lore :D

I'm guessing the Quincy statue is either time travel or an ancestor, and I'm leaning towards the latter.
