First off, I would like to point out how beautifully shaded and well painted this piece is. The technique you use for painting. You can always manage to make it look like it was painted on a canvas with a real paint brush. Its extremely difficult to make a painting look like a painting in an art program but, again, you have managed to pull it off.

Next, I would like to point out the color pallet. The more monotonous color scheme suits the tone of the picture very well. The rain and the overlay of clouds make this the perfect scheme you could have chosen. My only suggestion for it though would be to make the shadows more consistent and use the range of shadows you use on the goomy, used through the clouds and the background.

Speaking of the background, the trees you did look very good in your style of painting. But i must say they are quite a bit more saturated than the rest of the picture and the small group in left seem to be very focused. My suggestion would be to take the color pallet from the farther trees and apply it to the foreground trees then take the background trees and fade them out a bit more just to give them the feeling that they're farther away.

As for things you could improve on, i would suggest making the goomy look more wet or shimmery. This will give it more of the affect that it is wet and make it more believable that its raining. Another thing would be to make the shadows slightly less intense due to the fact that overcast makes light not as intense.

Your light source could have been better placed since the sun is more 'up' than 'in front of' [this is simply a minor nitpick, the shading is wonderful and well executed]. My last piece of criticism would be to give the ground and the back ground more shading to better match the picture and make it look more completed and more rendered.
